Bringing Change One Step at a Time

Mindfulness

Calm, Connecting, & Healing

Interns are invited to participate in our weekly mindfulness sessions to promote their health & well-being.

This year we are working on creating curriculum for children & adults to benefit from a mindfulness practice in a practical & sustainable way.

Aleta Monakhov, RN & PMHNP-Rx leads this initiative.

Social Squad

Making a Difference

Through this experience, interns have the opportunity to create engaging curriculum for children of all ages to learn & practice skills to navigate difficult, frustrating and/or scary situations and to make and keep meaningful friendships.  These group curricula help children be calmer, happier and more confident in challenging situations.

Kaui Mau, Marriage & Family Therapist & Katie Lau, Registered Behavioral Technician conduct therapeutic groups for children using these curricula.

Community Partnerships:

PACT: Dr. Bell understands the importance of early intervention for children.  She is the mental health consultant with PACT Head Start and Early Head Start programs at Kahauiki Village.  Kahauiki Village is a residential community for families that have experienced homelessness.  Interns have the opportunity to experience community consultation.  Contact us at interns@kahalaclinic.org on how to get involved.
